Readers of the Portadown Times have been familiar with Henry Holloway's 'Random Thoughts' for some 37 years and it says plenty about the column - and the man - that his weekly random jottings, based on a life that has spanned 60 years in the ministry from Belturbet, Co. Cavan to Crumlin Road Belfast are as popular today as when he penned his first column for the paper in 1955.
The 'Random Thoughts' column has been an inspiration to thousands of people and they, like me, are delighted that a selection of Henry Holloway's writings are now being produced in book form, waiting to enjoy the wider readership they deserve.
I have valued Henry Holloway's friendship and advice for 30 years and I look forward to seeing his simply written but profoundly thought provoking column land on my desk at the Portadown Times for many years to come. The paper would be very much poorer without it.
